AMI Data Collectors facilitate the exchange of data between Tesla endpoints and Tesla MDM over a point-to-multi-point AMI 450-470 MHz Licensed Private Network (LPN). RG3 offers three types of AMI Data Collectors. All three can be used in the same meter system to reach coverage goals.
LPN Fixed Network Collectors
LPN Fixed Network Collectors (FNCs) can be used as a Base Station or Repeater and are typically mounted on towers or tanks with antenna(s) located as high as possible for the greatest amount of coverage. FNCs can store up to 38 million reads, communicate with up to 48,000 endpoints and transfer collected data in near real time to Tesla MDM making it available for view. FNCs can provide a 3.5-mile radius coverage area and communicate with other FNCs up to 10 miles away. Installation height and site conditions can vary actual coverage.
LPN Duo Collectors
LPN Duo Collectors are small 450 MHz Licensed Private Network data collectors that transfer information between Tesla AMI endpoints and TeslaNet MDM using the strongest cellular network available at the installation site (Verizon, T-Mobile, AT&T, etc.).
Duo Collectors
Duo Collectors are ideal for communicating with up to 1,000 endpoints within a 1-mile radius and can store up to 38,250 reads. Installing a Duo Collector is as easy as powering it up and mounting it in a good location. If a standard 110v A/C outlet isn’t available, a solar power package can be added to make the Duo Collector self-contained. They can be set on a tower, screwed to a wall, clamped to a pole, or placed on the back of a street sign or light. A simple website registration is required after installation.
Licensed Private Network Solo Repeaters
Solo Repeaters are ideal for smaller coverage areas of up to a 1-mile radius. LPN Solo Repeaters can communicate with up to 3,000 endpoints and typically mount on poles, buildings, tanks, or Rhone type towers with semi line of site to an LPN Fixed Network Collector or Duo Collector.
