About RG3
RG3 Meter Company is a family-owned water and gas utility metering manufacturer based in Longview, Texas. The Gregory family has been in the utility industry across three generations, with roots going back to 1950 in excavation contracting and utility work. That hands-on field background — knowing what happens at the meter pit before ever designing what goes in it — shaped the practical, accountability-first approach that defines RG3 today. In 1998, the family made the decision to focus exclusively on utility metering, and Lee and Katrina Gregory have led RG3 since that time, with the same leadership in place for nearly 30 years.
RG3 designs and manufactures the full metering system — meters, AMR/AMI endpoints, head-end software, fixed network collection systems, and drive-by reading platforms — with a single chain of accountability. RG3 sells both factory-direct and through a network of authorized distributor partners across the country.
Although it isn’t possible to produce every item we make in the states, we use USA foundries to cast meters and build all electronics in our Texas facilities. Even our proprietary software and web-based applications are written and supported from the USA. RG3 AMR and AMI endpoints, AMI collectors, and mobile AMR transceivers are BABA compliant.
